Jana Koubková for years one of the leading personalities of Czech jazz. He has been singing since she was six years old in choirs, vocal groups and solo. As a jazz soloist prevailed in 1975. Jazz sanatoriums Luďek Hulan. Since then he has gone through many stylistic groupings. From blues, swing, bebop mainstream over, latin, free to the world and ethno-fusion. Founded the annual festival Vocalise / 1981- 2000 / for jazz, blues and rock singers.
For six years she worked at the Prague State Conservatory in the field of interpretation. She has participated in many festivals not only in Europe but also in Cuba, Algeria, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Lebanon, Israel, Morocco .. thrives as a composer of songs and film music. It has its own radio programs and writes essays, columns and poetry, but also focuses on teaching seminars. Released two books - RECIPES AGAINST solitude and Žuti do with taste. Her life motto is to be prepared, that's all.

Path Jana Koubkova on top of our jazz scene was not short nor straightforward. Started in Kulínského children's choir Cs. Radio, led through Linhovce, Pánkovce, Kučerovci until Koubková one day ventured into Hulanova Jazz Sanatorium, the Jazz Half Sextet, invented Hot aunts and hot breath, just completely swept into Prague jazz life. She was not only the most original jazz singer (spontaneous improvisations, rhythmic, relaxed, feeling and explosive ..), but the real figure around which the music revolves. The hot breath of finding good teammates and friends in Michal Pavlicek and George Hrubeš. And that friendship is a jazz album to hear.
