Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is most assuredly one of the high points for the first-person shooter series published by Activision, as developer Sledgehammer Games has managed to bring forth an intense experience filled with sci-fi aspects as well as the same fast-paced mechanics the franchise is known for.

Already two different downloadable expansions have been released for the shooter, and now the third one, called Supremacy, is available for download on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles. Like previous map packs, this new one has four levels for the competitive mode and one new episode for the Exo Zombies cooperative mode.

  1. 2019-6-6  Prepare for Ascendance, the second downloadable content pack for Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare. Part Two of the Exo Zombies co-op experience: Infection introduces an expanded map with terrifying new.
  2. Now 12 years after its original namesake, a new Modern Warfare is being built on all the foundations of the original in a contemporary context. Activision has announced 2019’s Call of Duty title today, significantly later than usual, as a reimagining of the Modern Warfare.

Does Supremacy manage to continue the great streak of releases from Sledgehammer or should it be skipped over by Advanced Warfare owners? How to join the legion new vegas online. Let's find out.

Exo Zombies is a downloadable game mode in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. This mode is available in each DLC pack.

Competitive multiplayer

First up, let's talk about the four new maps for the competitive multiplayer mode that are included in Supremacy. They're called Parliament, Kremlin, Compound, and Skyrise.

Dlc

Parliament is certainly quite impressive in terms of visual design, as it's set in London, on the river Thames, where a docked ship provides a great layout for intense firefights. While the map isn't that big overall, it provides plenty of different areas for players to engage in shootouts. Those who prefer close-quarters can stick to the front and back of the ship, while those who like to snipe from afar can try to take over the main bridges. In terms of the scorestreak reward, talented players can unleash a barrage of missiles against their enemies.

Kremlin is another map that impresses through its setting, which, if you haven't guessed from its name, is in Russia's presidential palace and the surrounding Red Square. While the map is structured around three different lanes, there are plenty of sections that can spark their own isolated brawls. Make sure you avoid the minefield that activates at the mid-point of a match, as it can prove decisive in pushing a team or the other towards victory.

Compound is the smallest level in the Supremacy DLC, taking players to a tight and twisted Atlas training facility from the Colorado wilderness. Be sure to use SMGs for speed or shotguns for surprise stopping power against enemies, as you'll often be killed in unsuspecting ways from all sorts of directions.

Last but not least, there's Skyrise, which is a remake of the classic Highrise from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The actual level takes players to an Atlas corporation skyscraper in Athens, Greece. You can admire the Acropolis in the background, but you'll mostly have to pay attention to the chokepoints in this small map, provided you actually want to win.

Just like with the Ascendance DLC, the Supremacy one also packs in an Exo Grapple playlist that contains the new maps as well as the actual Grapple mechanic that allows for faster traversal of the environments, not to mention stylish kills. Not much else is changed over the initial introduction of the system in the previous add-on, so you'll just have to learn to master it on the new levels.

Catch enemies unaware in Supremacy
Cooperative multiplayer

Exo Zombies co-op mode fans can enjoy in the Supremacy pack a new episode called Carrier. As its name suggests, the latest adventure takes players to a new setting in the form of an Atlas aircraft carrier that, as you can imagine, gets infested with zombies.

While most of the original cast returns, in the form of characters played by Hollywood actors like Bill Paxton, Rose McGowan, or John Malkovich, a new playable hero joins the pack, in the form of Bruce Campbell, the star of iconic horror movies like 'Army of Darkness.'

The new level is pretty intense due to its special carrier setting and provides a good mix of corridors and open spaces in which you'll be chased by zombies. It also throws in new weaponry but also new enemies and allies, as Atlas Strike teams and Sentinel Support squads will appear to thwart or aid the rescue efforts. New undead characters, of course, are also included, so stay on your toes, especially when the teleporting zombies come around.

As always, the overall environment is pretty convoluted and requires quite a bit of time before you start to navigate its confusing corridors and adjoining paths successfully.

Call in help in Supremacy's Exo Zombies
Visuals and sound

In terms of visuals, the new add-on brings quite a few varied environments to Advanced Warfare that all look pretty good, particularly when it comes to Parliament and Kremlin. However, Compound is the most forgettable, and its environments, even if they're cramped, still feel a bit repetitive and confusing.

The animations and effects in the new Carrier episode for Exo Zombies are also pretty good, although things can get a bit confusing from a visual perspective inside the actual carrier.

The soundtrack is relatively good but don't expect anything mind-blowing. The Exo Zombies cast delivers a solid performance, with special mention to Bruce Campbell, who pulls off his TKTK

The Good

  • Parliament and Kremlin look great
  • New mechanics in Exo Zombies
  • Special effects can turn the tide of battle

The Bad

  • Compound is too cramped for its own good
  • Carrier has confusing layout and pathways
  • Exo Grapple doesn't fell that great on Parliament or Skyrise

Conclusion

The Supremacy map pack for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare brings quite a few interesting additions. Some, like the Parliament or Kremlin maps, work quite well, while others may not delight every fan, such as the Compound map or most parts of the Carrier Exo Zombies adventure.

Fresh Reviews

It’s been about two months since the launch of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on last-gen and current-gen platforms and by and large Sledgehammer Games’ first foray into the franchise seems to be a hit. So much so, that Advanced Warfare was one of the first COD games in recent memory to land on Game Rant’s top 10 games of the year.

But now that some time has passed, players are itching for more and, as if on cue, Sledgehammer is ready to give it to them. Yes, it’s time for the Call of Duty DLC campaign to begin with the release of the Havoc DLC pack on January 27.

As readers can see in the video above, Havoc adds four new multiplayer maps and a new cooperative mode to Advanced Warfare’s selection. It also introduces a new weapon called the AE4 Directed Energy Assault Rifle that takes players’ dreams of using a laser gun in the game and makes it a reality.

Call Of Duty Advanced Warfare Dlc Packs

The four maps included with Havoc – Core, Urban, Sideshow, and Drift – feature diverse environments and plenty of opportunities to test one’s mettle. A few of them even include dynamic events whereby the landscape changes or influences combat. The clown-themed map Sideshow, for example, features a giant clown billboard that launches bombs into the air.

Alongside the new multiplayer maps, Havoc also includes the highly anticipated Exo Zombies mode that was teased in the main Advanced Warfare campaign. By and large, Exo Zombies looks to share a lot in common with past Zombies offerings, except that this time the undead enemies will have Exo Suits launching them in random directions.

Yes, it’s a shame that Exo Zombies was held out of the main game and players will have to pay extra for it, but there’s no doubt plenty will fork over the cash. Zombies is easily one of Call of Duty’s most appealing elements for players, and outfitting them with future tech should only make the experience crazier.

Sledgehammer also seems to be continuing the Zombies trend of using celebrities to portray the four co-op characters. Past iterations have featured everyone from Sarah Michelle Gellar to Michael Madsen, and this year gamers get to enjoy slaying the undead alongside John Malkovich, Rose McGowan, Jon Bernthal, and Bill Paxton. It’s an eclectic case to say the least, but one that fits the tone of Zombies.

Overall, Havoc looks to fit the bill as a solid Call of Duty DLC offering, delivering new content for players with a wide variety of interests. The prospect of new multiplayer maps is always exciting for fans, but Exo Zombies may offer even more incentive to pick up the pack. However, only Xbox gamers will be able to buy Havoc later this month; PlayStation and PC gamers will have to wait a little longer.

It’s also worth mentioning for any of our Chinese readers that Call of Duty Online has launched. The free-to-play spin-off of Call of Duty offers a set of single player, cooperative, and multiplayer modes to players for free, but there are microtransactions available as well. Activision hopes that COD Online can form the next major wing of the franchise, and maybe if it’s successful it will come to North America.

What do you think of the Havoc DLC for Advanced Warfare? What would you like to see from a future DLC release?
